FACILITIES
Undergoing any surgery - but particularly one that is elective - should be delivered with the most deliberate planning and utmost care. However, far too often this is not always the case. Social media posts would suggest that is like getting a haircut. Here at Peninsula Plastic Surgery, we pride ourselves being the antidote by offering the safest care possible. But saying so is clearly not enough. So, here are the various foundatio
PRIVATE O.R:
Your surgery is conducted in our on-site operating room facility which not only makes the experience more private and personal but it allows us full control of its maintenance, sterility, staffing, and protocols, all vitals elements to ensure the delivery of care of the highest order.
Staffing:
As is true in the delivery of any complex service, the “secret sauce” is always the quality and experience of its people. Well, we can boast employees who have worked consistently in our office for literally decades – and even more importantly as a team for just as long. (link to pic and description of all staff)
Anesthesia:
The thought of anesthesia can reliably quicken anyone’s heart. But rest assured that our team includes only a hand-picked seasoned cadre of Board certificed, MD, anesthesiologists – physicians who have taken care of ourselves and/or our own families! And these doctors abide by the same credo as your surgeons: “to deliver just the right amount of anesthesia – not too much, too little” – so at once you are maximally safe and blissfully unaware! (link to our list of anesthesiologists?)
Checklisting:
To deliberately prevent errors of both omission and commission – mistakes due to forgetting a vital step and/or performing an erroneous maneuver – the office adheres to strict checklists from preop, through intraop to postop. Peninsula Plastic Surgery actually published the first and most comprehensive checklist in the plastic surgical literature. (link to article)
Accreditation:
In addition, our operating room is accredited at the highest standard by the pre-eminent authority, QUAD A. (this word should be “hot” so the patient can touch it and go to the Quad A site if would like). In fact, on account of Dr. Rosenfield’s passion for operative safety he was recently invited to become one of its Board members. (Link to aaaasf and my board membership)
Postoperative Care:
But your care does not end with the completion of your surgery in our office. We deliver postoperative recovery care by highly trained RN’s in a spacious suite at the local hotel around the corner. And you will be visited daily by Dr. Rosenfield. Often, Dr. Rosenfield will also conduct a house call – with black bag in hand – to continue to ensure your recovery be as smooth and worry-free as possible. (link to photos of Westin suite?)
