The common strategy is to make a larger incision to cut out both the excess breast tissue and often the redundant skin as well which results in an excess of much more obvious scarring and often, despite this more aggressive surgery, an incomplete result.

In order to address the inherently more fibrous nature of the excess breast tissue as well as facilitate shrinkage of the resultant excess skin, the most tried and true technology, ultrasonic liposculpture. is harnessed instead. This approach clearly has a significant learning curve, but we have been using the technique for decades now. And this strategy promises a less traumatic surgery through a small wound around the margin of the nipple, resulting in a faster, less painful recovery as well as a more complete and accurate breast tissue excision  as well as a better address of the loose skin, without the need for excess scarring.
